Insurance

  • Ambetter of NC (including Carolina Complete Health)

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC (pending)

  • MedCost (pending)

**We are in the process of becoming credentialed with several insurance providers and will update this page as changes occur.

If we are not in-network with your insurance provider, you may still be able to use your out-of-network benefits for reimbursement. Upon request, Ready To Bloom Counseling, PLLC can provide a Superbill—an itemized receipt of services—that you can submit directly to your insurance company. Please note that we do not file out-of-network claims on behalf of clients, and reimbursement is determined by your insurance carrier based on your individual plan benefits. Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit, it may be possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Here is an article explaining how to use Out-of-Network benefits. Please contact your provider before making an appointment to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.

We encourage all clients to stay informed about their insurance benefits, including deductible status, copay changes, and coinsurance amounts. We also recommend contacting your insurance company to confirm your estimated financial responsibility before or during treatment. Any applicable deductible, copay, or coinsurance will be due at the time of your therapy session and will be processed by your provider. Please let us know right away if you believe you’ve met your deductible or if there are any changes to your insurance coverage, as this may affect the amount owed for each session.

Secondary Insurance

If you have more than one insurance plan, it’s very important to let us know before your first appointment. When a client has both a primary and secondary insurance policy, each plan may cover a portion of the session cost. Typically, your primary insurance is billed first, and once that claim is processed, your secondary insurance may cover some or all of the remaining balance—depending on your benefits and deductible status.

If we aren’t aware of a secondary insurance policy and submit claims only to your primary insurer, issues can arise months or even years later. In some cases, insurance companies may determine that a claim should have been processed differently and request repayment from the provider (a process known as a “clawback”). When this happens, the client becomes responsible for any balance that results.

To prevent billing complications or unexpected costs, please make sure to share all active insurance information with us and update us right away if your coverage changes. We appreciate your help in keeping your account accurate and up to date.

Sliding Scale

At Ready To Bloom Counseling, PLLC, we believe that finances should never be a barrier to receiving quality care. We offer a limited number of sliding scale (reduced fee) sessions during select appointment times for clients who are not using insurance and are experiencing financial hardship. If you’d like to learn more about current sliding scale availability or discuss whether you may qualify, please reach out to inquire.

Please note that we are unable to offer reduced rates to clients using insurance, as doing so would violate our contractual agreements with insurance carriers.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service. On the day of your appointment, your clinician will charge the card on file.

Credit cards, debit cards, FSA cards, and HSA cards are all stored securely in your portal account (the electronic health records system).

Cancellation Policy

Ready To Bloom Counseling, PLLC requires that at least 24 hours notice be given to cancel or reschedule an appointment. We understand that things happen, each client is permitted one no-show or late cancellation grace occurrence per calendar year, which renews annually. After this allowance has been used, a standardized fee of $100 will be charged for any subsequent no-shows or late cancellations to be charged to the credit card on file.

Providers reserve a time commitment exclusively for you, therefore your session time may be lost. If you are late for a session by 15 minutes or more, you may be asked to reschedule and be subject to the standardized fee of $100 as a  no-show or late cancellation.

Out of respect for others and to ensure as many folks have access to treatment as possible, we ask that you please contact your provider to cancel/reschedule an appointment as soon as it becomes necessary.

Good Faith Estimate

In accordance with the No Surprises Act, effective January 1, 2022,  health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises
